Product Pricing Analyst

Job Description:
Our client, a leading telecommunications provider, is seeking a Product Pricing Analyst. This individual must possess product management and cross-functional collaboration/influencing skills and understand market movement, pricing, financial analysis and marketing practices and principles.

The Product Pricing Analyst will be responsible for conducting pricing and market analysis and developing pricing for the company’s products and services, This individual will work closely with other departments to develop competitor cost/price strategies and proposals in response to Regulatory Commission requirements and make recommendations based upon research findings.

Other Key Responsibilities will also include:


  • Analyze complex price movement factors and pricing models, provide detailed commentary as it relates to product and /or customer profitability, develop and utilize pricing tools and models to ensure consistent application of pricing and profitability guidelines
  • Understand and track competitor pricing and market trends to provide product pricing proposals that position their products to capture maximum market share
  • Design and implement continuous improvement techniques and methods. Work with IT on design and implementation of systems and reporting improvements related to pricing and profitability effectiveness
  • Carry out detailed performance monitoring, pricing changes and reporting requirements across the team; provide various insights into the latest business performance, trends and highlight areas for concern where promotional activity may be required
  • Liaise with management to ensure sales channels display the correct pricing schedules for all products; work with Marketing and Sales teams to deliver promotions to the market place utilizing the appropriate communications vehicles, whilst ensuring systems are kept updated
  • Provide Management with meaningful reports such as revenue, profitability, pricing analysis and variances as required and keep adequate records to assess trend reports to respond effectively to changing economic conditions and market variations

Qualifications and Experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Business, Mathematics or the Sciences - preferred.
  • An advanced degree in business would be a plus along with a minimum 5 years relevant experience in pricing and quantitative analysis with an emphasis on process design and administration.
  • Critical problem solving, fact-based, and quantitative analysis experience with an emphasis on process design and implementation.
  • Working knowledge of financial modeling with experience in, market research and competitive analysis
