Group Actuary - Modeling

Job Description:
On behalf of our client, a leading reinsurer we are seeking applicants for the role of Group Actuary – Modeling to join its Group Actuarial function.
The primary responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the Group economic capital modeling;
- Develop model specifications, process, controls, output, and reporting requirements at a Group and for Bermuda legal entity modeling;
- Peer review, oversight, and ensure maintenance of best practices for the European legal entity modeling;
- Oversight of group risk and return measures and communicate the results;
- Capital attribution for pricing purposes;
- Evaluation of the deployment of capital to achieve optimal returns within risk constraints for the Company;
- Effective interaction with the various risk owners in the underwriting and capital markets business groups to understand the Company’s business, execution operational and systemic risks;
- Presentation to management.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Fellow of the Casualty Actuary Society (FCAS) or Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA) or equivalent;
- 7 to 10 years preferred with quantitative and risk analysis experience in insurance and experience with the functions outlined above;
- Experience with enterprise risk management concepts including research, development and implementation of capital at risk or other quantitative models;
- IGLOO programming skills preferred;
- Good problem solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail;
- Excellent communication skills; experience breaking down complex subjects for diverse audiences a plus;
- Strong work ethic, self motivated with commitment to meeting.
First preference will be given to suitably qualified Bermudians or spouses of Bermudians.
